Gibson Les Paul Classic 1993 Goldtop
Early 1990s Gibsons have something special to them. Great craftsmanship combined with a good quality wood resulted in trusted rock machines, such as this Les Paul classic made in 1993. This one was made for Japanese market, for a well known importer - Yamano.
Goldtops have a magical vibe. They don't scream rock, they are elegant, stand out but in a modest way. When you take this guitar in hand you notice few things: comfortable slim taper neck profile is handy, the guitar is not too heavy and has a nice balance. Also, you will notice the deep, chocolate-like rosewood colour. Strumming first chords you will experience well seasoned wood with a defined, balanced tone. One thing different from the stock are the pickups. Previous owner has replaced the ceramic pickups with original Tim Shaw humbuckers from 1980 Les Paul Standard.
Plugged in, the guitar delivers all the expected goods - warm but tight tone in the neck, a very nice, balanced middle position and a lot of midrange richness in the bridge position. A rather spectacular, yet classic sounds.
The guitar is in great visual condition with no major damages to the paint job or wood. Neck was never damaged. Technically in perfect shape. Set up and ready to play.
