Tom Anderson Drop Top Light Tiger Eye Burst 2009
Playing Tom Anderson Guitarworks' guitars is like taking your favorite espresso on a sunny summer day. It feels good, wakes you up, and gives you the necessary boost to go through the day (or a song, gig, or recording session). They always feel familiar and you know what to expect - the highest quality with immaculate craftsmanship.
Drop Top is the modern flagship of TAG. Every aspect of the guitar is a modernized approach to a super strat: very comfortable C profile even-taper neck with a satin finish, compound-radius (12-14") fretboard, stainless steel frets, locking tuners, modern carve of the body.
HF1 neck pickup is very fat when in full humbucker mode, and splits great to round bell tones. Middle pickup is focused around the midrange complimenting the neck pickup well to form a proper quack in position 2. The bridge pickup has a powerful rock-oriented attitude and fattens up nicely when thrown into distorted sounds.
What you get is a powerful workhorse ready to cover all sorts of grounds: be it bluesy fat neck tones, funky rhythm parts, or screaming rock riffs to the liquid solos. With the ability to split every humbucker, add bridge to any position, and passive VA booster it has plenty of options that will help you on stage and in the studio.
