The Sunburst Lester, Faded Just Right

Ice Tea Faded is the classic Lester colorway – a warm three-tone burst faded to look like decades of stage light have already done their work. Paired with light nitrocellulose aging, the finish reads as an instrument that's been well-loved for a lifetime, not one that was made yesterday. Handmade in the EU by Maybach with the same components as the rest of the Lester line, and – at 3.4 kg – comfortably under Maybach's 4 kg ceiling. This is a working musician's Lester with a working musician's look.

The Sound

Amber Spirit of '59 humbuckers – the closest thing to authentic late-'50s PAF voicing available in Europe today. Warm, dynamic, and touch-responsive; the neck pickup does creamy blues and jazz, the bridge sings under gain, and the middle position is where great chord parts live. The 60s Slim Taper neck is faster than a '59 Round C – flat enough to move around comfortably but with enough shoulder to sound and feel substantial.

Built the Maybach Way

Two-piece mahogany body with a two-piece flamed maple carved top, mahogany 60s Slim Taper neck with long-tenon set-neck construction, Indian rosewood fingerboard with trapezoid MOTO inlays, 12" radius, 22 medium-jumbo frets, real bone nut (42.8 mm), Gotoh SD-90 tuners, aluminum stop-tail, Tune-O-Matic bridge. Hand-wired with CTS TVT 500kΩ pots, Switchcraft 3-way toggle, and 0.022 μF capacitor. Cream binding on body and neck, nitrocellulose finish with light aging. Comes with the deluxe Maybach hardshell case and Certificate of Authenticity.
