A Lester With a Twist – Gold Top, Mini-Humbucker Voice

Most Lester-style guitars stick to two P-90s or two full-size PAF-style humbuckers. The Bullion Gold Mini-HB does something different: it pairs the iconic '50s Gold Top look with Amber "Goldrush" mini-humbuckers – a rare and remarkably articulate voice that sits between a P-90's bite and a full humbucker's warmth. Cleaner, more focused highs, tighter lows, and a specific chime you cannot get from a standard humbucker. This is the Lester for players who love the shape and the swagger but want a voice that cuts differently.

Built entirely by hand in the EU by Maybach, this guitar is for the player who already owns something PAF-flavored and wants a genuinely distinct second Lester – or the tone hunter who's heard Peter Green and Neil Young records and asked what those mini-humbuckers are doing.

The Sound

Mini-humbuckers give you the clarity and bite of a single-coil with the humbucking silence and slightly warmer core of a smaller humbucker. On clean, expect glassy highs with articulate mid definition. Push into crunch and the guitar takes drive without losing string separation – individual notes stay defined where a PAF would start to smear. Perfect for country-rock, indie, and any style where chord definition matters as much as sustain.

Two-piece mahogany body with a two-piece carved maple top, mahogany 60s Slim Taper neck with long-tenon set-neck construction, Indian rosewood fingerboard with trapezoid MOTO inlays, 12" radius, 22 Wagner medium-jumbo frets, real bone nut (42.8 mm), Gotoh SD-90 tuners with aged nickel, aluminum stop-tail, Tune-O-Matic bridge. Fully hand-wired with CTS pots, Switchcraft 3-way, and 0.047 μF capacitor. Nitrocellulose finish, lightly aged, with cream binding on body and neck. Comes with the deluxe Maybach hardshell case and Certificate of Authenticity.
