Gibson Custom Shop Les Paul 1960 Standard Reissue Aged 2012
Gibson welcomed the 1960s with a strongly modified version of Les Paul. One year of model difference between the '59 a '60 model marks a great transition in the guitar world. Thinned-out neck, figured maple book-matched top, hotter pickups - these are the features of more modern style in Les Pauls. Plug it into a screaming Marshall stack and you just got yourself the classic rock paramount.
This particular guitar is an exceptional example of Gibson Custom Shop artistry. Not heavy at 3.84kg with no weight relief, amazing resonance, and hot creamy midrange of PAF-style pickups. It's extremely comfortable to play with proper neck-body balance and a slimmer neck profile. The neck pickup delivers punchy nasal sounds, the middle position quacks as it should and the bridge not only has this familiar bite but is tight. Rolling down the volume we don't lose high end, creating space for more dynamic playing, especially in a single channel amp.
The aging was done at Gibson's factory and adds a lot of vibe to the already spectacular instrument. Currently, the tuning pegs, reflector knobs, and the bridge are upgraded to Martin Six String Customs relic parts but all the original Gibson parts are included.
