The Capitol 59 is Maybach's answer to the legendary '58-'59 semi-hollow – the guitar that defined the sound of B.B. King, Chuck Berry, and later everyone from Larry Carlton to Dave Grohl. Two humbuckers, a hollow maple body with a solid center block, F-holes, and a voice that can do jazz, blues, rock, country, and studio work with equal authority. Handmade in the EU by Maybach with the same care that goes into their Lester line – and, at 3.2 kg, one of the lightest semi-hollows in this price range.

This is the guitar for the player who owns solid-bodies and wants something that adds air, resonance, and versatility to the arsenal – or the working musician who needs one guitar that covers everything.

The Sound

Semi-hollow construction adds an unmistakable "woody" character – the top vibrates, the air moves, and the guitar breathes in a way no solid-body can match. Amber Spirit of '59 humbuckers deliver authentic late-'50s PAF voicing: warm neck tones that clean up beautifully, a bridge that sings under gain without harshness, and a middle position that jazz players will love. Unplugged, the guitar has genuine acoustic voice – you'll want to keep playing it whether the amp is on or off.

Laminated maple body with matching maple top, F-holes with cream binding, 3-ply black pickguard, mahogany neck with C profile, Indian rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays and cream binding, 12" radius, 22 frets, real bone nut (42.8 mm), Tune-O-Matic bridge with stop-bar tailpiece, vintage-style tuners with Kluson tulip buttons. Nitrocellulose finish, subtly aged. 25" scale – slightly shorter than a Lester, easy on bending. Comes with the deluxe Maybach hardshell case and Certificate of Authenticity.
