The neck is rift-sawn one-piece maple with an oval C profile (contrary to the modern C shape). The back of the neck is stripped of lacquer, making it great under the fingers and smooth with no friction. The fingerboard is a thick piece of dark rosewood, with a modern 12\" radius.
